I (Donna) signed up on this site when i just found out about HSV. I never was looking for a serious relationship and this was a support system for me. I met many amazing people and often distance was the issue although i was willing to relocate. My partner and I lived 500 miles away from each other and we just though we'd take a chance and meet up half way. We decided to try to have a relationship and 3 years later we got married...obviously it worked out :). I met someone that I felt so strong a connection with, that distance was not an issue and finally I am moving to the USA (from Canada) to start a new life. Its exciting. He had seen my profile and it was love at first sight/read for him. He was living in the US and I was based in Australia but that didn't worry him so he shared his heart with me without any concerns for if we would ever meet or not. Interestingly enough I was in Florida with Avatar at the time of receiving his email so after a couple of weeks of speaking online and on the phone we decided to meet before I flew back to Australia. Brandon flew from Park City, Utah to Orlando to meet me. The goal I had was to meet my life partner by the 31st of October 2008 and Brandon and I met each other in person at 11.45pm on the 31st of October. The moment I saw him I knew he was the one. We were in love and talking about our future together before we'd even kissed. It was an old fashioned love story using modern day technology. Long-story-short Brandon asked me to stay in the US with him and I said yes. I'm still here and we're talking about getting married soon. When you know you just know. Our success story starts like any other. We began communication on 11/29/08. At first, we thought distance might be a factor in that we were both looking for "the one" and it would be difficult being in different states. The first phone call was 2 hours, all the rest ranging from 4-5 hours. Since we decided to meet face to face, our lives have changed dramatically. We are making plans for our future and neither of us can believe how quickly all this has happened. We're what each other has been looking for our entire lives. After being on and off this site for a couple years, and meeting some very nice people, I finally did meet the perfect guy. It was really encouraging to meet as many really nice people as I did, but it does take a certain chemistry to make things work. David's British sense of humor is delightful, but more than that his sense of family and responsibility fit hand in hand with mine. We are hopeful that this is the beginning of a wonderful and pernament romance.

Living in Ohio, it was my birthday in November of 2005 when I came across the website. I had been separated from my husband for quite some time and was awaiting the finalization of my divorce within the week. I hadn't been doing much dating, but was looking forward to leaving the past behind and starting a new life.

A week into my membership, I responded to a simple message from a man living in Florida. Two days later, we began a conversation online that lasted about 3 hrs. He had just come out of a serious long term relationship and like me, was ready to start over. There was immediate chemistry. After several hours of conversation, all that was left to say, was "Wow". There's was an obvious connection, neither of us could ignore. Our conversation migrated to the telephone, where we continued to tell our life stories until it was time to go to work the next morning. This was a Tuesday morning, and as I went through my day at work, I could hardly concentrate on anything but him. The moment my work day ended, we picked up where we left off and continued talking all night until I fell asleep during the conversation around midnight. Having had no sleep since this all began, it was inevitable. It was now late Wednesday morning, and I had overslept. I missed work that day. I used the time to ponder on where this could lead. He was a man unlike another other that I had met. Far better than I assumed I would ever find. But his life was in Florida, mine in Ohio. Would we fly back and forth?, Would we just ended up breaking it off because of the distance? I began to realize that there is only one way to determine whether or not this is as true as we feel it is. He was born and raised in Florida and had no desire to leave. Me, on the other hand, was looking for an excuse to skip town. The more I thought about it, the more sense it made. All I had to do was pack and leave. I took the remainder of the day to say goodbye to my job, and try to convince my family I knew what I was doing.

There were mixed reviews, but I was a determined woman. Thursday was Thanksgiving. I spent the day with my family and left that night with my clothes and my dog. 13 1/2 hours later, on Friday morning, I was in Florida. The next few days was better than the first and everyday thereafter, just got better. Next month, will be 2 years. I built a brand new life in another part of the country with a man I couldn't go on without. To get big rewards, you have to take big risks. I sure did, and I couldn't be happier.

I am not interested in dating anyone, I simply wanted to post a letter to the creators of this site for all who might be skeptikal of the outcome as I was.

After logging on and posting my photo I met 2 people, the first of whom did not work out. I sensed she was dealing with her demons in a way i had as a person living with hiv many years ago.

Then my friend/lover/and wife arrived! I picked her up at Laguardia airport and we have lived a dream ever since! my lonely and dreary life was made whole when our 2 completely healthy were born! That was 5 years ago! Our children even brought us closer together! This is simply a note of thanks, a message of faith in what could happen in your life if you are open to the possibilities!

A short time after joining Positive Singles I saw her profile. I didn't try contacting her right away but felt something when I saw her although I'm not sure what. Instead I sent out a couple winks elsewhere. Over the next month her profile kept popping up so I decided to send her a wink. She tried to respond via email but it didn't work. We met at Boston Pizza and when I got there she ran up to me and gave me the biggest hug. She told me she was normally quite comfortable around guys because she had been actively dating for some time but apparently she was nervous talking to me - at least at first. After dinner we talked until 3 in the morning. I really enjoyed myself. There were so many synchronicities in our meeting it's incredible. To make a long story short though we are now planning a family.
